The History Museum

The City Hall, called Rathaus or the Council House at the time, was built in the central square of the old walled city in 1420. The ground floor still preserves elements of the Gothic style, while the first floor and the tower were built in the Renaissance and Baroque styles. The building has sheltered Brasov county history museum since 1950.

The permanent exhibition of the county history museum: Brasov history, culture, civilization: is organized in 17 halls and comprises 3334 exhibits displayed in 123 glass cases, covering a total graphic surface of 210 square meters (50 panels).

The exhibition is structured in three departments: archaeology (basement), medieval history (ground floor), modern history (first floor).

Summer:

Monday: closed.

Tuesday - Sunday: 09:00 - 18:00

Winter:

Monday: closed.

Tuesday - Sunday: 09:00 - 17:00

Full price: 4 RON (appr. 1.14 EUR)

For groups: 2 RON (appr. 0.6 EUR)

Reduced price: 3 RON (appr. 0.9 EUR) students, soldiers, retired people.
