The Pottering Center of Upper Ciuc

The settlement is the centre of pottery in the area, the inhabitants of the village have been creating the most beautiful red and black glazeless pottery for approximately 150 years. The speciality of black pottery is the fact that while burning it out the cauldron is closed, so that the smoke cannot leave the oven, thus it colours the pottery to black.
