Reformed Church Cernat

According to the tradition, the settlement underneath the Ika castle was considered a shrine before the reformation with a miraculous thermal spring, the believers pilgrimizing to this place. It might be the Csókás spring, since its curative effect is well-known by the villagers. The fact that a church was standing sometime there is supported by the place-names used nowadays as well - Szentkereszt ( Saint garden ), Szenthomlok ( Saint forehead ), Remete ( Hermit ), Templomoldal ( Church side ).

The reformed church in Felsőcsernáton ( Cernatul de Sus ) was built between 1830 - 1836, after the demolition of the old church and seats up to 620 persons. The pipe organ in the church has got six registers, the communion table pots are new, except the lead  cans dating back to 1747 and 1815. The Baptist are also a joined community , having thei own church and has got six registers, the communion table  pots are new, except the lead cans dating back to 1747 and 1815.
