The theatre, that opened in 1999, has grown into a center of professionalism and professional devotion. The Csiki Jatekszin that functions in the building of the former cultural house of the town, opened its doors for the audiences from Miercurea Ciuc in September 1999. The theatre that has grown into the center of professionalism and professional devotion has drawn into the charm of its performances not only the audiences from the town but also from the neighbouring settlements from the Ciuc and Gheorgheni basins. To enlarge the variety of their programme, the theatre?besides their own productions?also offers performances of guest theatre groups, and has become famous for its welcoming atmosphere. In their yearly programme they often have productions of guest theatre groups. The capacity of the hall of the theatre has been enlarged by the opening of the Hunyadi Laszlo studio-room named after the famous actor which was opened in the building of the theatre on the 4th of March 2004.
