Este una dintre cele mai frumoase zone din judeţ, plină de rarităţi ale naturii, fiind vorba de un pejsaj carstic, cu pereţi de stâncă. În strâmtoare există mai mult de o sută de peşteri a căror localizare şi descriere a fost începută de către Orbán Balázs, şi finalizată de către geologul Dénes István. Cu o rezervaţie naturală de 810 hectare a fost inclusă în reţeaua ecologică Natura 2000. Custodele ariei naturale protejate este Asociaţia Lumea Pierdută din Baraolt.<br>
