Capusului Defile Capusu Mare

Capusului Defile, covering about 8 km length, heads on the middle course of the Capus River (Capusului Valley), between Bedeciu and Capusu Mic cities and has the status of nature reserve of county interest.

The slopes are relatively steep and wooded, mainly with frequent rocky portions. Capusului river descends through a narrow aisle, posing however small picturesque openings, surrounding the valley on both sides.

In terms of flora, forest vegetation knows inversion phenomena in terms of deciduous forest species. Dominant woody species are the spruce, the beech, the common oak. The fauna is represented by fish such as the chub, umber, birds (eagle, black stork), mammals (deer, squirrel, wolf, wild boar, fox).

In terms of local history, on the right bank of Capus, at the beginning of the middle ages, a fortress, known as the fortress of Bedeciu was founded.
