Presentation - Borzestilor Defile Iara

Borzestilor Defile is dug into the crest of Petresti and is located 5 km South-West of Turda Gorge, on the territory of Iara commune, also declared a protected natural area of county importance.

The defile, with gorge like aspect, has wooded slopes so that is why flora is well represented by the area of beech forest mixed with durmast and specific plants of forest habitats and rocks. It also provides good living conditions for many mammals, and several species of birds, reptiles and insects. It is accessible from the cabin Buru or from Borzesti village.
